Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley in Ghent, NY, Art Omi is a sanctuary for the artistic community with residency programs for international artists, writers, translators, musicians, architects, and dancers. Art Omi believes that exposure to internationally diverse creative voices fosters tolerance and respect, raises awareness, inspires innovation, and ignites change.
The Fields Sculpture Park presents the works of contemporary and modern artists, offering a unique possibility to experience a range of large-scale works in a single outdoor environment. The Fields currently provides more than 60 works of art on view, is open daily, and is free to the public – a tranquil outdoor space where visitors may traverse grassy fields, forested paths, hills, and footbridges. In the winter, groomed cross country ski trails are free and open to the public as well. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy picnic facilities located throughout the park and guided tours are available to groups of six or more with a reservation.
The Charles B. Benenson Center and Gallery is an important public venue for information regarding The Fields Sculpture Park while accommodating concerts, lectures, readings and dance recitals developed during the Omi residency programs.
The space provides concerts, lectures, readings, and dance recitals. It houses a gallery and lobby exhibition space, as well as a small library for visitors to enjoy. Guided tours are available with prior arrangements.
Wear comfortable walking shoes here and if there has been any rain recently the
wood paths can be muddy and there will also be puddles.
You can borrow bikes or golf carts if you need easier accessibility or just want to view a larger area.
Cross country skiing in the winter on groomed trails is free.
You might want to go early if it is a hot day, as the fields are quite open. Also, take bug repellent for the areas that are among the trees and by the pond.
Be sure to bring Fido as this park is OFF LEASH friendly.
