The Catskill Brewery is considered one of the premier breweries in upstate New York, standing out from the crowd of breweries that have been established in the mid-Hudson region in recent years. What sets them apart is the quality of their ingredients and the caliber of their staff, which combine to make their fresh ales and lagers outstanding and popular among locals and those who come a distance to visit and sample what’s on tap.
Their beer is sold in establishments from Manhattan and Brooklyn to all over the Hudson Valley. A few of the beers on tap here include: Flood watch IPA, a whole flower dry-hopping Sincoe & Sorachi Ace (do they mean ALE?); Ball Lightning Pilsner, a crisp bold lager with a surge of whole-cone Saaz; Nightshine Black Lager, a full-flavored black malt; Freak Tractor from their wild beer series that delivers a unique combination of earthy notes and a hint of tropical fruit; and Devils Path IPA designed to steer you away from the well-worn path of mundane thinking and take you in a journey of free will and enlightenment; and other enchanting brews.
The Taproom is open to the public Wednesdays through Sundays and features growlers, growlers and limited run 16-ounce cans to go.
Catskill Brewery is located at 672 Old Rte. 17, Livingston Manor, NY.
Catskill Brewery does not serve food (although they gave everyone popcorn at the bar), so make sure you eat before you get here or bring something along to enjoy when there!
Grab a growler and fill up at the bar with and a few pints...then take the beer home where it'll last for a few days if kept cold.
Check the website for a schedule of live music on weekends.
There isn't much seating inside (10-12 bar seats) but there are picnic benches outside which are perfect to enjoy a gorgeous day outside with a fresh, cold, beer.
