Located at the base of a magical secret garden, Hill Street Gallery offers a unique experience, steps from Catskill’s historic Main Street. It rewards visitors who appreciate original art with a treat for the eye, mind, and psyche.

Founded by fine art photographer Bruce, the gallery is intentionally curated rather than centered on a single artistic voice. While Bruce’s photographic work anchors the space, Hill Street Gallery functions as a rotating showcase for photography, illustration, printmaking, ceramics, and mixed media. Exhibitions shift regularly, offering new aesthetic experiences and inviting return visits.

A defining element of the gallery is its strong collection of Cuban art, built through Bruce’s fifteen-plus years of collecting and long-standing relationships with contemporary Cuban artists. Paintings, prints, and photographs from Cuba appear alongside historic Hudson Valley prints sourced through The Old Print Shop. Work by regional and invited artists adds to the eclectic mix. The environment expresses both global and local artistic expression.

Bruce Byers’ photography brings an unerring eye for the respect and dignity of humanity. His images capture fleeting, unstaged moments of everyday life, scenes of reflection, connection, and humanity that linger long after you’ve moved on.

Hill Street Gallery is open Fridays through Sundays from noon to five, and by appointment. Calling ahead is encouraged.
