Our Notes
Arrive early to enjoy more skiing. The equipment has to be returned by 4 pm
If you stick to the lower mountain, the beginner's package may work out cheaper than individually buying the lift ticket and equipment rental. You can simply skip the lessons and just start skiing.
Beginners package (equipment rental + 90 min lessons) was $67 per person here compared to $99 at Poconos.
Avoid weekends if you can, higher prices and longer wait lines but if you have to hit the slopes on the weekends it's not to bad!
The staff is friendly, they are even friendlier during the week when they don't have to deal
with so many people on the lifts and trails
Plenty to do during the summer as well multiple large music festivals, food and drink festivals, biking and hiking.
Its a 2.8mile hike to the summit of the mountain where there's a fire tower with the best view in the Catskills!
Make sure you walk the trail that has Rip Van Winkle's statue! My advice, buy lunch and bring it up to the top of the mountain and give yourself enough time to walk the trails!
