Isola Wine and Tapas Bar

What They Are about
Isola Wine & Tapas feels like a secret you’d stumble upon in a tiny Mediterranean town—warm light spilling onto rustic tables, the gentle clink of glasses, and aromas of saffron, rosemary, and olive oil wafting from the kitchen. Created by Certified Sommelier Hillary Zio, Isola celebrates the romance of Europe’s wine culture while honoring the bounty of Upstate New York.
The wine list is a love letter to the vineyards of Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and Greece. With over 50 unique bottles and 12 wines by the glass—predominately natural, organic, or biodynamic—you’re invited to explore coastal climate and terroir in every pour. Small plates of rotating tapas showcase vibrant seasonal ingredients from local farms, transforming familiar flavors into something extraordinary.
Chef Fernando Castro draws inspiration from coastal islands like Sicily, Corsica, and Sardinia to craft his ever-evolving tapas menu. His current lineup of ten small plates includes Pan con Tomate, anchovy croquetas, scallop crudo, haricots verts, and steak tartare. With rotating dishes and monthly European wine classes, Isola offers more than just a meal—it’s a passport to connection, discovery, and culinary delight. Isola has that rare magic of making ordinary nights feel extraordinary. It’s the kind of place you’ll keep tucked in your back pocket—and return to again and again.
