KinoSaito Art Center
What They Are about
KinoSaito is a nonprofit interdisciplinary art center that houses two large art galleries, a multipurpose theater, dance and performance space, two studios for a rotating roster of resident
artists, a classroom for arts education and public programs, a coffee bar, and a bountiful garden. We feature changing exhibitions of contemporary art in both solo shows and thematic group exhibitions. Performances in all forms of theater, dance, new media and interdisciplinary installations take place within the theater space and throughout the building. One gallery features a rotating display of works by our founding muse, the painter and theater artist, Kikuo
Saito (1939 - 2016).
Studios for resident artists ensure that working artists, their ideas, and their energy, are a constant presence at the Center, and are open to visitors once a month during “Open Studios
Weekend.” An arts education program for all ages and a series of public programs each season extend Saito’s work as a teacher, mentor, and supporter of emerging creatives.
