Mountain Tattoo has been operating in Mahopac for the past three years, led by owner Dan, who spent over a decade tattooing throughout Westchester and the Bronx before opening his own shop. That experience shows up in the way the studio runs, steady, focused, and built around doing the work right the first time.

The artist lineup is part of what gives the shop its range. Dan focuses on black and gray realism, bringing a high level of detail and control to larger and more technical pieces. Charlie, originally from the UK, works heavily in blackwork, with a style that’s drawn clients from well outside the area. Anthony has been tattooing locally for over 15 years and carries a strong base of returning clients, while Jessica, mentored in-house, has quickly developed into a well-rounded artist with a growing following of her own.

The shop operates as a custom studio first. Most pieces start with a conversation and move into a design built specifically for the client rather than pulled from a wall. Appointments are the focus, but walk-ins are taken when possible. The pace stays controlled, allowing time for proper design, placement, and execution without rushing through sessions.

The environment reflects that same approach. Clean, organized, and easygoing without losing professionalism.
