What They Are about
With a strong background in brewing beer and an obsession with quality, Dan Suarez opened the Suarez Family Brewery with his partner Taylor in New York’s Hudson Valley. The brews here include mixed-fermentation Saison and farmhouse beers -- half will be fresher, draft forms; the other half will be super-long, barrel-aged and intense fruited specialties. There are also relatively low-ABV aromatic ales, a series they’re calling Crispy Littles; and unfiltered pilsners, Dan’s darlings.
This Hill Farmstead alum is giving people what they want and then some. You can stop in at the tasting room Wednesdays through Sundays to sample and purchase your favorites.
The brewery is located at 2278 US Route 9, Hudson, NY, just four hours straight up Route 9 from New York City. The small city of Hudson also offers fun and eclectic restaurants, boutiques, galleries, and antique shops to make a full day or weekend excursion.
Our Notes
Suarez brews are in more Brooklyn bars than anywhere else. Check out Mekelburg's, Threes, Brouwerij Lane, Torst, Spuyten Duyvil, and the other best places to drink beer around here, and you'll probably stumble upon a couple.
Keep in mind that Suarez is no longer dog-friendly.
This is the perfect spot for beer lovers who want to enjoy a quiet setting where they can bring a few friends, maybe a board game or some cards, and spend a few hours enjoying some seriously high-quality beer from people who know and take pride in what they're doing.
