The Lumberyard

What They Are about

The Hudson Valley added a unique artistic element to its collection when doors opened on the LUMBERYARD Center for Film and Performing Arts. The center, located in Catskill, NY, provides 7,000 square feet of space that can be configured differently according to need and is already in use with artists and performers from across the region and around the US.

The 2018/2019 season opened with celebrated Hollywood actor, Alan Cummings, who introduced tap dance sensation Savion Glover to more than 400 guests. Joined on stage by renowned jazz drummer, Marcus Gilmore, they thrilled a crowd of Hudson Valley residents and arts patrons who have supported LUMBERYARD’s years-long mission to bring internationally recognized performance artists to the region. The facility also houses Lumberyard Studios, which includes a purpose-built sound stage for filming and post-production that will serve filmmakers, production companies and the motion picture industry keen to take advantage of New York State’s film tax credit program.

In addition to providing critical support to a wide range of artists, LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts welcomes audiences of all experience levels into the inner world of the contemporary performing arts, giving them opportunities to witness the creation, as well as the performance, of new work.

Just two hours from Manhattan. LUMBERYARD is located at 62 Water Street Catskill, NY. Please check the website for performance schedules.
