Twin Gables
What They Are about
Twin Gables was established as a Boutique Hotel in 1926, when artists Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Daibler purchased the 19th-century house at the height of Woodstock's first flowering as a center for creative people. It was an unprecedented time in Woodstock’s history— the beginning of the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony, which served as a Utopian artists’ community, attracting free-spirits and bohemians from around the world. Two of Mrs. Daibler’s painting still hang on the walls of Twin Gables, in Room 10, off the parlor.
This charming Hotel has an established reputation as one of the most favored places to stay in Woodstock for nearly a century. Renowned for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and charming ambiance, this Catskill Mountains’ inn, set in stunning Ulster County, N.Y., is in walking distance to most shops, galleries and restaurants of the Woodstock village.
Twin Gables offers reasonably priced, light and airy guest rooms, each with its own unique charm and personality.
All rooms, as well as the common parlor area for sitting and relaxing, are decorated with period furnishings and boast original art work from local and global artists. And, for the modern convenience of its guests, WiFi is available throughout the accommodations for those traveling with their mobile devices.
Our Notes
Organic coffee, tea, and filtered water is available at all times at the coffee & tea station located off the parlor.

Our amenities – soaps, shampoos, hair conditioners -- are completely natural, environmentally friendly and biodegradable – including the bottles themselves! We also minimize our water use and only use top-of-the-line natural cleaning products.
