Owner of Body Be Well, a certified Pilates teacher and holistic nutrition professional, Chelsea Streifeneder wants you to live well and feel your best every day. That's why the HV native opened her third studio upstate this summer. New to her roster of fully equipped Pilates studios is one in Windham. She opened her first in her hometown Red Hook 13 years ago and three years later expanded her brand to Catskill. With over 15 years of teaching and training experience, Chelsea has been featured in Prevention, Women’s Health, Hudson Valley Magazine, Pilates Style Magazine, and more. All her instructors are trained in the classical techniques of Joseph H. Pilates, along with newer methods. They each have more than 650 hours of certification by the Pilates Method Alliance and continue their studies through workshops, conferences and extra training.

Amie Romano of Aho Kambo practices the ancient medicinal ceremony using the natural secretion of the Phyllomedusa Bicolor, an Amazonian treefrog. This bioactive secretion delivers peptides and neuropeptides known to be crucial to the health, function, growth, and repair of breathing, circulation, digestion, nervous systems, and to cognitive functions tied to attention and memory.

The secretion is one of strongest natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial and anesthetic substances found in the world and one of the strongest, most effective ways to strengthen the immune system. Properties of these peptides have also been known to help treat a wide-range of medical issues, including depression, cancer, addiction, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Candida, fibromyalgia, PTSD, anxiety, chronic fatigue, acute pain, migraines, blood circulation problems, vascular insufficiency, organ disease, skin and eye issues, to fertility problems, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, Lyme’s, autoimmune disorders, and more.

South American tribes have practiced Kambo ceremonies where the medicinal secretion, sacred snuff (hapé) and eye drops (sananga) are time-tested traditions predating record. These ceremonies are a deeply profound experience that help the participant to release what no longer serves them on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. The medicine has the ability to heal traumas, blocks, memories and physical diseases.

Amie, an IAKP Kambo Practitioner, has traveled the world, studying this and other ancient medicinal ceremonies. She now practices Kambo in the New Paltz area as well as on-site.

Alexis Sarandon grew up loving all things skin care and natural beauty, and was always creating homemade face masks and researching products. She found her true calling in cosmetic acupuncture.

Specializing in Cosmetic Acupuncture and Gua Sha allows Alexis to truly help her patients look and feel their best. Her goals are creating a beautiful, healthy glow for each patient and addressing their concerns while also taking into account their daily stresses, overall mental health, digestion, sleep, nutrition and the harmony of their body. Alexis’ treatments "create a unique space for your skin to glow and your mind and body to flourish."

Alexis, a graduate of Tristate College of Acupuncture, grew up in the Hudson Valley, with a deep love of the outdoors. Her love of food, health and physical activities led her to years of working on farms and growing produce, providing nourishment and wellness through quality food and community. She says becoming an acupuncturist felt like a natural transition.

Alexis, a mother of three, also studied with cosmetic acupuncture guru Shellie Goldstein in 2018 and became a master of cosmetic acupuncture and Gua Sha (the Chinese practice of using a jade stone to relieve facial and jaw tension, promote a brighter complexion, and visibly contour the face). Alexis, now specializes in cosmetic acupuncture, where she melds the old Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques with more modern ones like microcurrent, LED, cryo massage, and nutrition and lifestyle counseling.

Christina Peterson, a local rep for Green Compass, has struggled with knee and back pain for more than six years. Like many, she turned to 100-percent natural cannabinoids (CBD) to get relief and quickly became an advocate. Here's her story:

"I was at my wits end when my friend suggested CBD to me. To be honest, I would not be able to walk today without taking CBD daily. "After day 45, I noticed I hadn’t had to take Tylenol at all despite previously needing to take it DAILY to function. I was able to focus more and had little to no anxiety while at work—previously a large source of stress and anxiety for me. I went on a day trip where I was standing and walking for more than six hours and that included a full flight of stairs which I normally would have avoided. None of this would have ever happened without CBD." CBD is one of the largest and fastest growing industries, but has little to no regulation. Most companies outsource their hemp plants, so most users have no idea where or how the plants are grown. So Christina teamed up with Green Compass, which grows all its plants in the U.S. With a USDA Certified Organic seal, all Green Compass products are from seed to seal grown, bottled and distributed in the U.S.

Christina says "The benefits and transparency of this company have been unmatched! This is why I decided to partner with Green Compass and share my story."
