The Other Big Apple: Angry Orchard Walden

Updated: Nov 9, 2020

The Hudson Valley has long been known as the central hub for apple orchards and cider making. Nestled in the heart of the region is the Angry Orchard Cider House in Walden. Since opening its doors in 2015, Angry Orchard has been producing craft cider for locals and visitors to the region. With over a dozen craft ciders available at any given time, from traditional styles to the more innovative, there's literally something for everyone.

New to their lineup this year is Angry Orchard’s Farm Series, a celebration of New York State agriculture and the quality fruit and ingredients that grow so close to home. Available on draft at the Orchard, or in 4-packs to go, these three ciders showcase apples from the season’s harvest, along with ingredients sourced from a handful of purveyors throughout New York State. Each batch of Farm Cider is blended to create a delicious and balanced cider utilizing local ingredients.

Farm Cider Medium:

Farm Medium is light-bodied and filtered, with a touch of acidity. It has a fresh, juicy aroma that gives way to a ripe apple flavor.

ABV: 6.4%

Farm Cider Honey Ginger:

This batch is sweetened with organic wildflower honey from Honeybrook Farms, located just up the road. It also features fresh ginger, which complements the floral characters of the honey, creating a slightly sweet and balanced cider.

ABV: 6.3%

Farm Cider Hopped:

Farm Cider Hopped is blended with New York State grown hops, and yes, it’s still gluten-free! During the fermentation process, we add in Galax, Cascade and Centennial hops. The result is a nice dry cider with a pleasing hoppy aroma.

ABV: 6.5%
