Labor Day Arts & Crafts Festival

The Arts & Crafts Festival by Quail Hollow Events returns for its 41st Fall show September 2nd through 4th to the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz, NY with more than 200 artists, plus live music, demonstrations, food, beer, wine and spirits, and a children’s tent.

FEATURED ARTIST @quailhollowevents is proud to feature American Stonecraft, a craftsperson who brings new meaning to “Rock Star.” Using common boulders found on farmlands in New York and New England, Croteau creates one-of-a-kind housewares and personal artifacts. His stone offerings range from charcuterie boards, grilling stones, food slabs and trivets, to engravings and custom carvings. Those willing to do a little (literal) digging before the festival can bring their own rocks and commission a personal piece by the artist. This is the opportunity to gift your family member a serving platter that is also a part of the land they grew up on, or surprise your spouse with a sculptural bowl, cut and carved from the ground you stood upon when exchanging vows.

SHOP HANDMADE

The fair teems with handmade wares from carefully selected exhibitors in more than 10 media categories. Discover unique finds for the home, body and beyond — from jewelry, to wearable fiber art, mixed media wall art, hand-thrown porcelain table settings, bedroom furniture sets, Adirondack chairs and everything in between.

A FESTIVAL FOR EVERYONE

Visitors will delight in ongoing craft demonstrations, a variety of small-batch artisanal and prepared-on-site foods and local wine, beer, and spirits. Live musical performances round out this broad celebration of handmade. The youngest attendees (and their parents) will appreciate a complimentary children’s craft tent, filled with a wide range of materials — many supplied by the artists themselves.

HANDCRAFTED FOOD & DRINK

Local wineries and distilleries and makers of specialty and prepared-on-site foods bring even more flavor and fun to the event. Sample wine and spirits, enjoy a beer while shopping or listening to music, and eat lunch under the stunning Shawangunk Ridge. Like the extensive assortment of crafts, the food lineup includes something for every taste and taste bud — from lobster rolls to tempeh Reubens, fried noodles, crepes and more.
